The paint stuck pretty well. I did rough up the tubing with some 220 grit sand paper and I think that helped. It took a couple coats for the base coat; I'd put some on, hit with the heat gun for a few seconds to dry and put another coat on and sometimes a third coat just to make the color even. I used Americana Acrylic paint. Easy to use and easy to mix for custom colors.
