Restoring my 37-116. It plays now!

Tom

Of course I want it! Is this something my OL gonna be OK with Icon_mrgreen Icon_lol

I recently obtained a 37-116 with the 6A5 output tubes. Reading this thread made me dig for info on the differences of the 6A5 vs the 6B4 tubes. Here is a clip from a service bulletin.
Apparently my 37-116 is a code 125-126.

Actually here in this thread on p.3. in line 3 I wrote about it.

No pot-meters for filaments and the cathodes are grounded.

Morzh I have question about your alignment, did you align your 37-116 with the metal chissis cover on or off ?

The truth is, I did not align it. The way it performs I don't really think it is misaligned. All frequencies on the dial were right where they should be so I thought, given the fact my generator is not really calibrated, I might not be doing the radio any favour by aligning it.

Most of my radios I did align but not this one. Now, I haver already forgot how it looks but I kinda doubt the cover on or off makes any difference.
Then again, if possible it is always better to align a device when it is fully assembled, thus eliminating any guesses as to whether it affects anything.
