Rare Philcos?
#16

I would add the 29TX to the list of rare Philcos... only 500 manufactured.

And in looking around the web, it seems like all the 28 & 29 chairsides are pretty uncommon. Sure would like to find a 29CSX!

Had a couple radio collectors stop by today and after the tour of all my radios it was the 509X they were really impressed with. The cabinet work inlays, burled book matched veneers and other details of my 509X are just a stunning and rare set to see made by Smyth cabinet company.

They asked me how I knew to look for one of these for 7 years and was at a loss of words actually. I think I read it was rare and liked its look in the Stein console book. Thanks to Ron again for linking me to this one out of San Francisco.

You're welcome, my friend - glad to help Icon_thumbup

Yes, the 509X is very impressive to see in person. I was privileged to see Bruce's 509X last Fall, the only one I have ever seen. It's really a beautiful radio, and Philco went all out to make it a beautiful and unique radio-phonograph.
