Philco 630 chassis in a 610 Cabinet?
#1

Just finished my second radio chassis, a 610b.  I have an extra 610 Tombstone cabinet and was thinking of getting a 630 chassis for it.  Will the 630 fit in the 610 cabinet? Thanks in advance and I want you to know I have spent a lot of time on this forum and learned a great deal.  Just finished my second refurb and could not have done it without the great info on this site.

Yes, it should. I don't own a 610B but I do have a 610T "Big Bullet" and it has a 630 chassis inside. The 630 chassis fit like a glove...once the shadowmeter was removed. You'll have to do that if you put a 630 chassis in a 610B as well or else you may have speaker clearance issues. I used a 1K, 1/2 watt resistor in place of the shadowmeter.
