Model 51/52 cap question
#1

Hello and Merry Christmas,
I am restoring a model 52B, which has the same chassis schematic as model 51.  On the schematic capacitor #23 is a 5 part metal can.  It contains one each 0.1, 0.15 and 0.25 caps and two 0.5 caps.  I have disassembled the can out of the chassis after marking where each of the wires are connected.  Two of the internal caps are identical, so I assume they are the two 0.5 caps.  My problem is that none of the cap values are indicated on the schematic, so I can't identify the other three caps.  Does anyone have a schematic showing the cap values or know what each value should be?  If not, would comparing the physical size of each individual cap indicate the value of each cap?
  Thanks for your help.

Does the Paperwork list a Philco Part number other than 23?
If so, we may be able to cross reference the info for you.

One option is if you have a meter that measures capacitance, measure each section and see if you can get any readings that would be close to the values stated in the paperwork. Some caps may still read close to original value, but may be leaky when voltage is applied.
This method might help determine which is which by process of elimination.

Hello Jack, I also have a 1932 Cathedral 52b I am restoring. I have finished the cabinet replacing some of the veneering. Any chance of a photo of the chassis so I can compare with mine ? The transformer is mounted undernneath, is yours ? I have the schematics
