Gregg - I can't tell from the photo does it slide along a flat metal back plate?

Terry I sent a few more pics. It slid across a glass dial. The top tee section where the dial cord runs through it sat on the top edge of the glass dial. The needle is slightly offset from the tee to make up for the thickness of the glass dial.

I just sent a pic of it sitting on the glass dial to give you a better idea of how it was.

Just got them.
I don't see any kind of notch or groove that would fit the metal plate I have but it the needle is certainly long enough.
Even if I have to "Frankenstein" into something I can use I think you at least solved the actual needle part of all this.
If you have a chance can you mail it to: Terry Lett 309 Four Seasons Drive Mason OH 45040?
I really appreciate your help on this. I was making such good progress on the rest of the radio until I hit this snag.
Thanks again Gregg!

Absolutely, I'll drop it in the mail tomorrow. Like I said if you can make it work, give it a shot. If you can't, throw it in a drawer like I did.

Terry I mailed the pointer today, so you should have it Tuesday or Wednesday. I hope it works out for you.

I can't thank you enough.
I'm sure I can make it work. The real challenge will probably end up stringing the new assembly.
Dial stringing is like slow torture.
