An Unknown radio restoration
#1

A- almost Z restoration... I have not recapped it.
I bought this 3 weeks ago and it was shattered in shipping. It had no name and no bezel. Everything was crusty inside but I liked it. I am stuck watching dad during the nights so I need projects. I figured this one would be good since I could do it in the house.

I actually saved the original finish with some paint matching and color sticks. She is not perfect but she is a beauty to me.
Kenny Richmond provided the Grill cloth.
Julie N Marty McCall provided the perfect escutcheon. It was a Stewart Warner but I shaved off the name and matched the original patina.
My niece provided the popsicle sticks  Icon_lol

Looks similar to one of those gothic GE J-series models.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Outstanding work. Also a very nice-looking model.

I'm glad you didn't paint the chassis. I don't think I would ever do that, ( with all due respect to those who do or have and have turned out some great-looking chassis'. )  They do look nice, but I would always worry about poor ground issues. And there's that authenticity-thing as well.
