Philco veneer I.D.
#1

Hello everyone,

Need help identifying what veneer is on this radio.I'm stuck between walnut and maybe hickory. It's a Philco 41-610. I stripped a small area to get a better look but I'm not 100% sure. Thanks for the help.

I had some time to strip the entire side of the radio. The second image is of the bare wood with just water on it. The veneer has a redish-brown color to it.I ordered a sample pack of veneer and the walnut isn't even close. Is this maybe mahogany or cherry? I'm thinking about patching with light colored wood then staining to match.

The glare on it makes it hard but vary sure it is walnut.
