The Philco Library is great for Philcos.  Great source of info.

Looking for a multi-sectional 8+16 mfd cap. Can't find any suppliers that carry it.

Often restuffed.
If a twistlock, Hayseed Hamfest makes modern replacements.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

I think mseno is talking about cap# 27 which is a multisection but in a paper tube. In cases like that I've usually be able to gut the tube and stuff it with the appropriate electrolytics. Sometimes the tube is just to small to fit the caps but you don't know until you try it. the first radio I restored was a 42-322 and it had 3 section tubular electrolytic in it. Here's a link to that restoration: https://philcoradio.com/phorum/showthrea...8#pid35928

thanks I'll try the polar caps seperately

Those filter caps in the cardboard tube are easy to restuff, especially the kind with the rolled over end. You don't have to do it of course but I don't think I have had a problem fitting new caps into one, even of a larger value The twist lock cans; on the other hand, some of those are too short, and or, too small in diameter, because what is inside is a "jelly roll" of paper, gauze, and foil, where they all share a common negative foil.
I'm with Vlad over the Hayseed Hamfest cans, you really have to love the device you are rebuilding to invest in those, and I also don't know what the quality is of the capacitors inside the can. I also can't see the advantage over using an "Adapt-A-Cap" over a terminal strip, neither one is original, but the terminal strip is way cheaper.
Regards
Arran
