38-15 finished
#1

Ok one last post to brag.

My 38-15 is finished. The dial face has a place where the dial needle rubbed the gold foil off. Other then that and it works great and I installed an input for an MP3 player.

What it looked like when I got it in Kutztown in May:

Icon_thumbup Nice!!

Happily back in Illinois..not.

She plays good pulls in AM and SW stations. The Bezel was pretty nasty so I used Brasso to clean it up. That made it to shinny so I coated it with a couple passes of medium walnut toner and then cleared it. I think it turned it pretty good.

Really nice job. Raising the bar for all!

You did a really nice job! The grill cloth you used looks pretty good, too.

It looks good. There is a seller on Ebay who has many dial faces, and you may find one one of these days.

Shortwave mostly stations down in Mexico, I did pull in a couple from overseas they were speaking an Asian language. I don't do much SW listening.

Radio Daze sells a re-pop dial face for it but like a lot of their stuff there is no picture. Not sure how the re-pop would look I decided that the original one wasn't to bad. I have seen worse.

Thanks for all the comments everyone..

Should have the 610 console done this weekend. Finishing the cabinet for my AC Dayton, and will be starting restoration of a RCA Victor R-15 soon. I also need to finish up a 39-55 I shelved cause it was irritating me while trying to get the mystery control receiver to work.

It never ends...
