40-195 under-top antenna connections?
#1

What are the connections for the antenna under the top of the Philco 40-195 (not the rotation antenna below the chassis board)?

I do not see this antenna on the schematic: http://www.nostalgiaair.org/PagesByModel...013340.pdf

Note that the coil, part 5, is at the 1st tube socket, and is not the antenna I am seeing.

Good morning,

That is the SW loop, and is part (2) on the schematic, not part (5) which is the loop loading coil.

One lead of the SW loop connects to terminal 3 of the four-screw terminal board at left of the chassis, as viewed from the rear. The other lead connects to the frame of the tuning condenser. There is a hex head screw on the frame, on the right side (again, as viewed from the rear), for this purpose. If the screw is missing, there should be a hole for an 8-32 machine screw there.
