substitute for a 32-7905N Audio Xformer?
#1

I just posted a WTB on the want ads section but thought I'd ask a related question here too. Can anyone suggest an available, functional substitute for the audio output transformer used in a 38-690 (Philco p/n 32-7905N)? It would not have to be fused as the original is, just suitable for use with the 6L6 push-pull output.

Thanks,

Do you happen to know the ratio's and imp.?

Here are the pertinent specs:

32-7905

Primary impedance: 6000 ohms, center-tapped
Secondary impedance: 3.9 ohms
20 watts

The Hammond 1620A is a very close match - 6600 ohms to 4/8/16 ohms (you would want to use the 4 ohm output).

This transformer has screen taps that would not be used in this application - you would want to tape those leads up and leave them unused.
