Philco 40-190 Push Button Functions
#1

Philco 40-190 Radio Push Buttons

I do not have the cabinet, but just the chassis for the Philco 40-190 radio. There are 8 push buttons. I assume that some or all of them are presets for broadcast stations.

Are they all presets or do some of them serve another function other than being a preset?

Thank you.

According to a schematic I'm looking at, the buttons are as follows:

1-3 are presets, adjustable 540 to 1060 kHz
4-5 are presets, adjustable 650 to 1110 kHz
6-7 are presets, adjustable 920 to 1600 kHz
8 disables presets for manual tuning

Hope that helps!

I am so glad I found this Philco radio forum. It is packed with much valuable information.

Is there a way to reset the push buttons on a model 40-180 to update them to a new favorite radio station?
Thank you in advance.

Sure can - there is a write up on how to do it here:

You'll need a DJVU viewer to open the document. Good luck!
