The chassis is a 95.

The cabinet is a Philco Highboy:

The grille insert is, most likely, not original. Notice how it is offset to the right and is also just a bit too wide (top to bottom) for the opening? I would bet it was installed later by someone who wanted something that looked a bit more decorative than the typical tapestry grille cloth, which may have become damaged prompting this addition.

Nice detective work Ron, Was the wooden cross section on the legs offered to just some models? I checked on this one and no evidence any where ever on there  , was there  ever a speaker board for grill cloth to be attached? What would  this be worth as it sits?

The legs on that cabinet were cut off just above where the stretcher base used to be. Compare your set to this photo:

Look carefully at the legs, and compare to your radio. You will see what I mean.

I've never seen, or heard of, this model ever having a decorative grille - only the "Tapestry" grille cloth.

No knobs, no tubes, legs cut down, might be worth up to $30 as a parts set. Stuff like that is almost unsellable at the big swap meets, even in good condition and complete it's not a high dollar radio, most of those late 20s early 30s consoles are simply not.

That being said, if you like it, give it the love.  If you're doubtful, you can always try a new idea that you're not sure you want to put on another cabinet.  However, I've seen your other cabinets... it's not like you need to practice.  I was kind of wondering if you'd contract out, actually.  Icon_wink Icon_lol

Well, now that the question is on the console (thanks Arran!), Fred, do you contract out? Icon_wink   Joe
