Philco Secretary
#1

After getting this at Kutztown in Spring 2012, it languished on the round-to pile until a few weeks ago. The major problem was a huge crack on the bottom that lead over to a loose chunk in the corner (thus its $3 price).

I did a thorough epoxy/fiberglas repair to the crack.

The outside then needed some epoxy to fill the outside crack residue.

Then a tape-up to protect stuff.

And then the finished look. the color was the closest that I could find. I can live with it. You can easily add a zero to the price that I paid. Icon_wink .....Labor of love again.

Looks nice to me! Certainly better than I could've done.

Thanks......In regards to the "secretaries put these under theirs desks and used their feet/shoes to operate them" suggestion, that little clear jewel that shows the "color" of the station would not have lasted one week! Plus, the cleaning crews would have done a number on set, as well. It will be a fun radio to show people, due its unusual features.

Some day, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me. But until that day, accept this justice as a gift

Great job, DK! Icon_clap Icon_thumbup

Incidentally, they were not intended to be placed under desks and operated with a foot (else why have a color indicator to show which station you were tuned to?).

 My point exactly.
