I think it looks better now that you have changed the color of the escutcheon.  It looks more original.

Thanks Dan, some guys were telling me the escutcheon was polished from factory, after researching a little I don't think it was so I went ahead and darkened it, looks a lot better.

That is an absolutely beautiful job you did on that!!  I have the previous year 1935 T8-14 with the round dial and also the little 1936 5T, both are very sensitive and 2 of my favorite radios!!

I sprayed a few light coats of dick van dike brown from Mohawk, its a toner color for wood refinishing, and is lacquer base. Looks pretty good ,gives it that patina (aged) look again I thought about hanging it over the ash tray when I smoke , to age the dial cover
