I found this 37-61 on ePay. I bought it for $39.99, and, since it was nearby to me in Canton, Massachusetts, I was able to pick it up and save both shipping cost and damage to the radio. The speaker cone is toast. I am going to send it and have it professionally rebuilt. The dial is badly faded, in some spots completely, so I will have to order a new one, but the only repop I can find for the 37-61 is without the lettering I show in the detail picture, nor does it have any other markings like "London" above the shortwave band, just the frequency scales. If anyone knows of a source of a better repop let me know. The pjotofinish is not too badly shot. I may just try some artistic "filing in" using my oil paints, and see what happens before I go whole hog and attempt to reproduce the original. I know that is beyond my skills, whereas I have done oil painting for years, and that seems less daunting to me, and also less destructive to the original finish that remains. Any suggestions about how to "fill in" those little problems before I start would be gratefully heard., so, without further ado, here are some pictures...

So, that will be a project for me over the winter. Should keep me amused.

I love it when there's no rust on the chassis.

Nice, I think I saw that but shipping is usually a deal breaker...

Even the shipping would not have been bad, a tad less than $18, but why risk it when it was 45 minutes up route 95 ? I found a place that makes brand new photofinish decals for this model, so I am going to completely redo the front with one of those. http://www.vintageradiolabels.com/refaux-pro.html Now, to figure out about that dial......

I think your model is available, these look pretty good. Not inexpensive though.

I have actually already e-mailed him a question about this, and await his reply. We shall see.

Paul, I sent him a scan of mine, and he says his is an exact repro, except for the color of the material, which is a bit lighter. I know they darken with age and smoke, so maybe they were a lot lighter brand new than people think. If it is similar, and has the right printing, I will be very happy. Tonight I ordered the dial, so we shall see.
