RCA Model 5T6
#1

I'm normally a Philco guy but a friend gave me an RCA 5T6 radio in nice shape. I'm wondering if anyone has a clear photo of the front showing the decals/lettering and knobs. I'm looking to keep it as original as possible.

Hi Dave,

I have a 5T7, a very similar radio; only the finish is different.  The chassis for the 5T6, 5T7 and 5T8 are the same.  The knobs and finish on my set are original.  I will try to post a pic by tomorrow evening.

Here is a pic from RadioAttic Archives.  The knob positions are correct.  The tenite dial escutcheon in the pic is missing.  Yours is correct.

I will try to get you a closeup pic of mine, showing the decals for volume, tuning, tone and band.  This is a good and good sounding radio.  The original tubes are the RCA / GE "metal" tubes for all tubes in the set. This radio is ca 1936 and represents a modern circuit that underwent very few changes from this point up to the 50s, other than the basing of tubes.
