A 116 followed me home too!

Not really, I had to go get it. It was a 8hr round trip and was back home by 11:00am. Looks to be in good unmolested shape but does have some scrapes the the sides of the cabinet. Have made some super sized copies of the parts layout and written in the values so I can make up a parts list.

ps It's a 37-116 standard model The deluxe model is standing next to it.

I prefer this one over the deluxe model.

Seems like ALL radios around here are an 8hr trip.

I like those enogh to have the 37-116X the only console in our (my wife's) living room. As good a radio as I have seen for 1937 - as long as you don't have to work on the tuner section.

Well guess I'm going to hold my breath and dive in. The 37-116X I serviced back in the '80s. Didn't removed the sub chassis. Did replace all the caps I could get to. Wouldn't know it after a few months the set died and I traced it back to a paper cap in the sub chassis that killed the LO. Replaced it we back in business. So I'm making a list and going to replace all the paper caps and resistors, only want to do it once. Now I've got three of these type of chassis two 37-116's and a 37-675. Maybe I'll be an expert on the darn things after I get those all redone. The 37-675 has a band switch problem, I like a challenge!

Hello, Terry: very nice find! I too favor the standard model over the deluxe. Maybe some day.....
