Philco Labels - gregb - 12-23-2016

Has anyone bought chassis labels from this fellow, see link below. His ad says he will make what ever label set you want so I asked him for a set for my model 17B and he emailed back and said he's to busy and can't do it. Seems to be a little false advertising to me.

Chuck Paci (cpaci1  at  Verizon  dot   net) sells photo reproductions of original labels.

I'd also be happy to help make some (for the fun of it) - but these would be reproductions rather than scans.

Just to confirm, this is the radio you have:

Assuming that's right, here are examples of labels from the 17B:

Chassis label

The chassis label looks pretty much like this 16B label:

Patent label

The patent label is essentially the same as this one, just printed larger:

Thanks Nathan, that is the radio! If you would make me a set that would be greatly appreciated. PM me the details.

Got stung with  Crap. He just does not care

RE: Philco Labels - morzh - 03-24-2017

Chuck seems to make good labels, plus some other things like tube shields. Can't say anything on the seller in question, but I usually go to the people I know and trust first.

RE: Philco Labels - sam - 03-24-2017

So why not try ones Nathan uploaded

Well, I got stung by this guy again. Avoid Vintage Radio Labels.

I need a foil RCA "Golden Throat" Label for my 1946 RCA 621TS TV that I'm restoring. He had one and I bit. Here is what he advertised and what I received. A paper one and notice the ladies face color!

I may contact Nathan. He is skilled and does a great job on these things.

RE: Philco Labels - Nathan Slingerland - 04-01-2017

Thanks very much Crist. Funny story - I started making labels *because* I ordered one from the same seller and was unhappy with the quality. Icon_rolleyes

Let me know if I can help. From the examples of that label I've seen online it's a bit of a tricky one to reproduce because it requires a gold background (which is normally OK - that just means printing on gold paper with a color laser printer) but also white lettering. Obviously most printers don't print white (or gold), which makes having both in the same label a bit of a problem. Probably the best you could do with a regular printer would be to print the golden-yellow rather than have it be metallic.

Nathan,
Got your email. Looking into this label a little deeper. I need a good size dimension to begin with. We'll keep in touch over the next few days.
