Thanks exray, sometimes I get lucky. Last Monday I found an old, working Superior Electric Powerstat, variable auto transformer at an estate sale for $4.

Great find and the price was right too! I do not have a chairside radio in my collection, but maybe sometime soon. Were these types of radios popular? You do not see them pop up for sale often. Again nice find!

Thanks PhilcoJohn. I don't think they made as many chairside models as they did the 9S262, or the three twelve tube models. Some of the chairside models, tho, were pretty fancy with a sliding glass top over the dial, that model must've been pretty popular. Maybe the chairsides as a genre are more popular now than back in the day.
