Hey guys I have an Eico 324 Signal Generator and I want to use it to align the 60L I just finished the chassis restoration on. This was a complete restoration including wiring and cap replacement, as well as other repairs. It actually has the voltages all fairly close and actually picked up a local station faintly today, but I'm sure needs alignment badly.
I've never done one before and especially with the signal Generator. I need to know how/where to attach the Generator leads and how to actually set it up to do the alignment. Any assistance would be awesome. This seems to be one of those times it would be great to see someone actually do it, then learn that way and know it forever. Pictures would be great as far as setting the Generator, etc. Thank you and for bearing with my ignorance.

John Riders Aligning Philco Receivers is what you need...
The intro to Vol 1 had info on general alignment procedures and the Model 60 specifics is on page 76.

Use the info that Bob linked to. Here is a video that might help you with how its done.
Not a Philco 60 but the procedure should give you an idea of how to do it.

I'd be rechecking my work and set operation.
In 50+ years I'm yet to see a radio so badly out of alignment that it won't at least receive locals.

I agree. If all the parts replaced during the restoration were good quality and within tolerance, the set should at least work reasonably well and require very little tweaking.
Did it work before you started?

Thanks guys, this was an Ebay purchase cheap. No it did not work, and yes it had been Jerried by someone many years ago. I had to make changes to both bring it back to specifications as original as possible as well as update the normal items. Thanks for the downloads, as they are quite helpful. I did speak with Terry today on the telephone and we walked through the alignment together and we did get it playing pretty darn good.
I am continuing to read the various literature and have other items as well to absorb, and will continue to learn this hobby as I really enjoy it. Thank you Terry for your time and assistance today in walking me through the alignment process. It was priceless to me!

It's my honor sir!!
When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Now I think I've got!
