Philco 37-89F Decals
#1

First post in the forum guys. Against my better judgement, I am trying to save a 37-89F. The cabinet was less than grade D but I have worked hard to bring it back. The front panel was totaled. The photo image "fake wood" was completely solar faded, someone had put dymo labels all over it, something had spilled down the front stripping most of the left side. I tried my best to re-create the scheme using veneers and glued that to the original plywood. Its not original nor will it ever be but I think it looks ok.

I have Ron's book on Philco radios and also searched the web. It appears this 37-89F model only has what looks like hand drawn black and white photos of the cabinet, I have never found a good color photo of the 37-89F cabinet or its related controls. From Ron's book, I can see there is a "PHILCO" logo between the top of the dial and the cabinet top. I cannot however, tell if the controls have decals too. I was looking at some decals from "Radio-Daze" I think the larger one on this sheet would be appropriate BUT I think its supposed to be white font with a gold after glow. https://www.radiodaze.com/philco-10-decals-dcl-ph7/

Can anyone assist me in selecting the correct decals?

Thank you,

Steve

I like it. Have you put any finish on it? There wasn't any decals indicating what the knobs do. As for the logo I'm not sure what the correct size a font is. This is something that maybe in the library if not should be there.

Here's some info in a thread that might help some. Ron knows the most about fonts and decals.

Maybe this is something that could be refined and posted over in the library. Some of us get sets that are devoid of finish and decals so the is no reference to chose a matching replacement decal.
