Here is a little Zenith 6D 2620 I am currently working on
Problem is that no one has the decal for it. It also needs a new dial cover. I may create a mold but I may give in and just buy one at K-town.

Sealed the cabinet last night and grain filled today. May need more coats. these grains are deep.
I know, I know, I should be a hand model right?

If the dial cover is not cracked or warped you may try using automotive rubbing compound use a very small buffing wheel/pad or by hand works very well. the cover will retain its patina look and you will be able to see the dial well .save your money

What is your grain filler of choice? Also, what color are you using...it looks like it will give a nice darker contrast in the grain.

I will try that for the dial cover but it is kinda ratty for me.
I use Mohawk Grain filler and am happy with it once I dilute it.

Got a little work done this morning. Taped her off and added the trim color.
Then stained the cabinet. No toner on this one. She is the same color already. Will let he dry and then clear a few coats. Someone I know is making me a decal for the front so hopefully that will work.

You never started collecting. It was hoarding all along.

I really didn't start hoarding. They are all in line for restoration. I will keep one of each model and trade or sell the rest and buy ones I don't have.
I got the clear on today and now to wait for the decal....
May be a while but I got that little chassis fully recapped except for one .0005 cap
I replaced one .07 with a .1, is that ok since I am out of .068

Don't know what the application is but it will probably be just fine.

Chassis looks OK to me.
0.07 UF is probably OK to be replaced oth 0.1uF, but if you want informed opinions, show the sch link and pos #.

Ok I am having an issue.
I am finished with the Chassis but the dial lamps are both out.
I checked everything and the only issue I see is that the 14C7 is dead.
Is this the tube that handles the dial lamps?
Here is the closest schematic I could find.

Well, when you say the tube is dead, does it also mean open filament?
With this pilot lamps will not light, or any other tube's filament for that matter.
Any open filament will keep the rest of them dead and pilots not lt.
