Well some time has passed since I posted a photo of this 53 562. Finally got her playing and have to say for a 5 tube mid century job she is a hot set.
Picks up all the locals, NYC stations (Yankees 660 WFAN) even a station out of Baltimore. Many weak locals too, so she is better than some 6 tube sets I have.
So while speaker is small, and tube count low, Philco could still design a set that was reasonably sensitive even in 1953.
