identifying a philco radio/ record player
#6

I cannot offer any technical info but I just wanted to respond to fortunateson. These photos tug at my heart. I remember when my parents purchased this very model and had it delivered home; it was 1961 or 1962. My mother has exceptional taste and this was the most modern and elegant stereo console available at the time. Its sound was rich and the bass could be enhanced. I played my Beatles albums endlessly on this as well as my mother's opera and classical music. The radio was excellent as well. We kept it and used it up to 1983. I'm so sorry they finally sold it as well as other "period" pieces when they retired. I wish we still had it. It holds so many wonderful memories. Your grandmother also must have great taste. Do take care of it ; I hope you cherish it as well.
