Something missing from this 46-1209 tuning shaft

I'm looking at this 46-1209 console for a friend, and the first thing to correct is the lack of tuning. Looking at the underside of the chassis it's obvious something is missing from the end of the tuning shaft, perhaps a gear to mesh with the gear on the tuning cap. Can someone give me a clue as to how this might be repaired, or maybe steer me toward a suitable replacement tuning cap? Thanks.
