Speaker Philco 37-84B
#1

New to antique radio repair and I just received this Philco radio. The cone is badly damage but I think I could repair it. Before spending a lot of time on this, is there a way to test the speaker. It is disconnected from the radio and there are three wires. With a 9 volt battery I do get a very soft static when touching the voice coil wires and a resistance of .4 ohm. Also the three field coil wires measure 1.166 K ohms between one pair and 1.5 K ohms the second pair...and I am sure it is used as a field coil. Your comments greatly appreciated.
