1948 Phonograph/ AM Radio Model 49.1405
#1

I am a proud new owner of this vintage home radio / phonograph. I had been looking for a vintage AM radio for a while, and had not bought one that caught my attention yet like this one did. I really like its vintage quality and craftsmanship, and like that it has a phonograph built in, and it's a table top style. I bought it for $60.00 at a local non-profit charitable boutique / thrift store. They get donations from left over estate sales, etc. I believe the year is 1948 model. I managed to get the AM Radio to work by tapping on one of the vacuum tubes lightly, so the AM is working great. I am now looking at the turn table, basically, it is not turning at all. When you rub the needle lightly, you can hear the audio from the the needle sound through the speaker, that seems to be working. The unit does have two arms, one for 33 1/3 rpm, and the other for 78 rpm. I am wondering what are some possibilities as to why the turn table is not spinning at all, not responding.
