Philco 48-1000
#1

The Philco 48-1000 is one of their first commercial sold TVs once production resumed after the war.  However, it has a distinctive pre-war look and feel to it.
A rather unique design electrically as well.

I wanted one of these for years but never saw a good one I could afford in my area.  Much to my surprise I was contacted by a local collector in 2020 offering me a modest vintage TV collection (including this model) for free.  Turns out they had belonged to a friend of his who passed recently, and he wanted them to go to a good home.

Here are some more photos. I have not pulled the chassis yet. I need to build a better workbench to handle this beast.
