Philco 38-38T - different than schematics
#1

Hi, been lurking for awhile as I have a couple of radios that I have told myself I will repair before the end of days. One set in particular is a 38-38T

The 38-38T has a label that states it Series 121 but only has 5 Tubes, 1C7G 1D5GT 1H4G 1J6G 1F7G which matches the tube location label.

Riders schematic for the 38-38T shows “series 121” but shows 6 tubes – Beitman schematic also shows 6 tubes don’t recall if it shows code,

Logic says the 1F7G (Double Diode - Pentode) is utilizing 1-Diode as 2nd Detector Stage, 1-Diode for AVC and the Pentode as 1st Audio Stage since these are the functions of the two replaced tubes but I have not yet traced the wiring.

I can most likely alter the 6-Tube schematic by tracking the wiring but would kinda like a schematic to verify voltage and component value.

Any ideas on where I might locate a schematic/service info for this "unique" set?

Thanks,
Blake
