Philco 38-7 Chairside switch question

The mute switch is use so that when you use the conecentric tuning it mutes the audio when tuning. It's used on a few models like the 38-22 and the larger console models like the 37-116 code 122, and the '38 model, 37-690,38-690...
Philco didn't use a RCA connector on any of pre war sets, they used record player with a built in phono oscillator like the RP-1,2,3,4.
