Philco 37-610 Speaker/Grill Board

Hi to all, newbie to this forum.......
I am working on this 37-610 and the speaker mounting cardboard is a bit flimsy and dried out with age.......is there a resource for a new board or do you have to make it yourself? Cheers, Steve

When my pals were reading comic books I was down in the basement in my dad's workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to figure out what all those squiggly meant. Circa 1966 Now I think I've got! Terry

Unfortunately Terry is right. You will have to work something out yourself. I know there are materials you can use but I cant remember what it is called... Kirk

Welcome, I have used the board inside the old 3 ring note book binders. It is about the right thickness, now on your console I don't know if the binder board will be large enough.
I think some guys here have used something from Hobby Lobby or a place like that.

One other option if you're Photoshop inclined - what I've been doing is to scan the original and use Ponoko.com to laser-cut a reproduction from cardboard or hardboard (depending on the original thickness).

It also works for missing radio backs. I've made those for a 41-226C and 48-225 so far. Yes - it's overkill, but maybe if it's interesting to you it's a fun related project in its own right.
