Philco 37-62 restoration

I'm just getting started on this radio.  First question is about a possible missing part.  I have attached a picture of the front of the tuning cap with the dial removed.  The picture shows two pieces of yellow broken plastic attached to a frame with what looks like pads to protect the dial.  The pads and broken yellow pieces are attached to the frame with small rivets.  What is the  purpose of the broken plastic pieces and what does it look like?
