belmont (BRC) 585
#1

i'm working on a Belmont 585 tombstone radio, series D.   similar to an Airline 62-198 - http://www.sparkbench.com/sprka198.htm .  it's missing the large wheel or "pulley" that I think should be mounted to the rotating shaft of the variable cap assembly.  …  of course, I may be mistaken that it even had a large "pulley."

PART 2 of my post:  indeed I was mistaken.

in case anyone is curious or simply didn't know, I learned from Bill at sparkbench.com that the large celluloid disc, partially visible in the picture, on the variable cap rotor shaft fits into the slot of the small disc on the tuning knob shaft. no second "pulley," no string.  and in my case, no idea!

anyone know where I might find a replacement disc?  this one is warped and VERY brittle.  thanks.

according to riders this radio has an IF of 465KC.

could that be a mistake?? and maybe it should be 456KC? I ask because I'm having trouble aligning it. lots of squeal and motorboating unless I tweak the antenna transformer.
