I think I'll hunt down thinner cutters in order to be able to attack this.

On a different note, with some help from people over at ARF I diagnosed what was wrong on my phono circuit. Turns out R213 was not only out of tolerance, but completely open. Leading to the 7AF7 to not act correctly as the phono preamplifier.

So, a new R213 later and Phono is now at comparable level to AM.
And sounds great.

FM is still lower than AM and Phono, but tracks good and sounds OK.


I finally get to enjoy the phono line of my radio Icon_biggrin
