Philco 87 cap block
#1

Are the 2.0 and 1.0UF caps in the cap block e-caps or reg caps....Also the neutralizing caps 7,12,and 17
have the wax out on one and need to be replaced...the schematic show those as a 100 ohm resistor and
a .1 cap as a unit...can i use a .1 cap and parallel a 100 ohm resistor across it for the same results?...OOPS..
the neutralizing caps 7,12,and 17 should be BY-Pass caps!!!!!
Thanks in advance...

The 1 & 2 mfd caps where originally paper but you can use either for replacement purposes. Go with 600v jobs. Usually neutralizing caps are small variable caps not fixed value paper ones. The bypass caps go from B+ to ground the resistors are in series with the B+. If you connect them in parallel with the bypass you will short the B+ to ground. Not a good thing.
