Dry Sink-Philco Stereo
#1

Anyone,

I just inherited from my grandmother a 1970's maple dry sink with a Philco stereo radio and turntable. It is model Q1710, SN: Q1710MA with Code 126.
It is a 50 Watt unit. It has an AFC control and a rear jack for two external speakers. It has 3 speakers on both sides of the cabinet. It has a pretty good sound and the maple finish is in really good shape. I lived with my grandparents when I went to college in 1967-1972 and played it a lot.
My question is does anyone know where I can get a manual for this unit and what ohm speakers should I get to add to the two rear external jacks? If it helps, the unit says to use Philco SS-36 or SS-45 speakers.

Sincerely,

Dbeyer

Hello and sorry for the delayed response.

I would have to guess, based on the year of the set, that it would require 8 ohm speakers.

I'm afraid I can't help you on the manual, and I have no idea where you might find one. The manuals were usually lost or tossed by the original owner soon after the unit was purchased.
