Philco 610B Tone Control 30-4318 caps
#1

Hi all, Have some conflicting info on the cap values for this tone control. Both my Philco schematics(one early and one later production) list .01 and .02. I have Ray's original "Philco Condensers and More" ( Great resource book!!!) which lists a .02 and a .003 for this tone control. The Philco Repair Bench does not list this tone control. Does anyone know which would be the correct ones? I'm assuming the .02 value is correct. Thanks-Ken

Those caps aren't that critical, either combination will work. Use what you have, just follow correct layout (placement). Yes, the Philco Condensers and More book is nice to have!! Best of luck with your restoration.

Thanks for the input. Will probably go with whats listed in the Philco schematic-Ken

Go with to .003 and .02. That will give you a fair amount of difference between the two setting.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Now I think I've got!

Yes, agree with Terry, .003 and .02 are a good combination for steps in tone.
