Pictures of blue tube in model 70 and cord question
#1

Question. View my photos and tell me if my cord end is original or no. I added a front and rear shot also. What do you make of the blue tube? I couldn't upload photo anywhere except craigs and e bay. Stupidness for sure but here's my radio on craigs http://spokane.craigslist.org/wan/1260597946.html Sorry, It's the only way I could get them to where you could see them!

A typical Arcturus brand tube. Original must have been replaces at one time. Arcturus made blue tinted glass tubes.
Nothing special electronically or mechanical, just tinted glass as a marketing tool.
They do look cool in a breadbord type set where al lthe tubes are visible.

I assume you mean the AC plug, Chris? Yes, that does look original.

Please see these Phorum pages explaining how to add pictures to your posts here.

Photobucket is free and very easy to use. Please give it some thought...it would be better than posting ads on Craigslist, I think. Just a suggestion and I do not mean to be critical in any way. Icon_smile

I try to put pictures on Audio Karma, ARF Philco radio forum FlickR and photo bucket, all of which decline my photos by stating "invalid file" But I can post on e bay and craigslist! I know it's stupid and I don't get it. I just wanted to share pictures of one of my radios. That AC cord end is super cool by the way, as is that blue tube, especially when it glows!

Okay, what sort of pictures do you have? JPG, GIF, TIF, or some other picture format? (You can determine this by looking at the picture file and seeing what the extension is; i.e. "picture.jpg")

JPG will be the most commonly used format for photos, even though it is a "lossy" format.

Let me know...

I know, it's just a model 7o, but they sure are cool aren't they? I love the simplicity.
