Absolutely, same as understanding the purpose of every tool, and what it is for, what it can be used for for which it is not directly intended (if the circumstances are such that one does not have the exact prescribed tool), what it should not or absolutely must not be used for (that could damage the tool, the device, or injure the one who uses it), as well as absolutely understanding safety rules, and not just the most basic ones, though I know people who have no idea about those either.
And sometimes we, professionals, think that some things are so self-explanatory and basic, there is no need to explain them and keep reminding of them. Until we realize that, yes, there are more than one person around for whom it is not just not basics - he is not even aware of it in the first place.
There is that saying:"Safety code is written in blood."
Nothing is truer that this.
