My Philco 41-280 Restoration is complete.. well, mostly!
#1

Yesterday, I received the restored chassis back from Texas Vintage Audio in San Angelo, Texas. I am delighted by the work done by Randal Walls; he transformed my rusty, filthy, butchered-up 41-280 chassis into a nice looking, and great operating, piece of vintage electronics. Thanks to Mr. Walls for a professional and remarkably thorough job!

I made a good effort at making my own call letter 'tabs,' but frankly they are not that great... I may go get a set off of eBay when some turn up. Also, I'm missing four of the brass oval head screws that hold on the eschutcheon. Other than that, I'm done.

Restoring this old cabinet was great fun, and now I can relive those wondferful memories of yesteryear when I sat in front of this exact same model Philco for countless hours! Life was good... still is!
