Dial cord substitute on 30's Philco

Finishing a 111 and the dial cord was bad. Checked the tech section on this site and saw the crochet nylon and fishing line listed as suitable substitutes. Headed for Walmart but stopped by Hobby Lobby first. In the jewelry section they had many types of line and cord. I saw a section of paracord with different diameters. This stuff has a core of nylon that does not stretch and an outer braid that has good friction. I got the #95 black paracord which is about the same size as the cord on the 111. Put it on and got some tension on it and it worked great. With all paracord I like to burn the ends with a lighter to fuse the inner and outer fibers. Keeps it from coming loose or fraying. It was $3 for 50 feet.
