finally beginning 118
#46

Well, I couldn't leave it alone..Icon_eh. After talking to Ron today, I put it back on the bench today. Ron suggested recleaning the tube sockets and checking the tubes. I checked the tubes, all good. I cleaned the sockets...well in the process of cleaning them I noticed a little bar attached to one of the tuning condenser mounting screws this was up against the band switch, but wasn't noticeable because of the conglomeration of wiring in this location. I moved it, secured and was able to align it and play it for over 2 hours today Finally. It's all together and playing...WooHoo.
A big thanks to all who provided suggestions and special shout out to Ron for his guidance and the piece of cloth to make it all look authentic. I'll post some pic's tomorrow, because it's time for dinner...

GREAT news, Glenn! The 118 is a great performing set. I still maintain that Philco made some of the best eight-tube sets out there!!
